Returning to the Cowboy Capital is the National Day of the American Cowboy, an annual celebration of the legacies of pioneering cowboys and the cowboy way of life here in Bandera Texas. The event takes place this year on the courthouse lawn on Saturday, July 23, 2022. In honor of this event, you may see individuals around town sporting the appropriate cowboy or cowgirl attire.
Not so long ago, it was rather common to see such a thing all year 'round on the streets of Bandera.
That cowboy spirit still lives on in this Cowboy Capital of the World.
It's normal for us to see gunfighters on the weekend or a horse-drawn wagon on your way to work down Main Street. Visitors to the Cowboy Capital are eager to see all the ways in which that title is displayed amongst our community.
How can we best represent the legacy of our hometown?
Although our cowboys and cowgirls today may not look like those out of an old western movie, what if someone came into your place of business dressed like they just stepped off the stagecoach? Or rode up on a horse?
